Match 1: Saitama hosted Sendai at Kumagaya Sports and Culture Park Athletics Stadium, losing 1-3. This marked a painful second consecutive loss of Saitama, continuing their winless streak. Sendai won two games with three consecutive draws in between. The shot count was almost even. Sendai’s goals came from young Yume Endo and Anon Tsuda.

Match 2: Beleza hosted Hiroshima at Ajinomoto Field Nishigaoka, packed with 1,813 spectators, and drew 1-1. Beleza had the advantage in shots, but did not have enough defenders in the box when they conceded a goal. Beleza’s winning streak came to an end at six. Mami Ueno of Hiroshima surpassed Kiko Seike’s record in total league goals. Beleza’s 16-year-old Niko Shikita made her league debut.

Match 3: Chiba hosted Kobe at Fukuda Denshi Arena, which drew a crowd of 1,336, but lost 0-1. Kobe held on to a fine goal scored by Riko Yoshida early in the game, but they also had an overwhelming number of shots and deservedly won. Kobe won 1-0 for the second consecutive match. Their defense was solid, but they seem to have much room to improve in their offense.

Match 6: Nagano hosted Urawa at Nagano U Stadium in front of a crowd of 1,018, losing 0-2. Urawa dominated the number of shots taken, resulting in a comfortable victory. Nagano’s third straight loss is painful.

Standings: The presence of Hiroshima and Sendai, who are chasing the big three of Beleza, Kobe and Urawa, makes the league attractive more and more.
