Overall review of .WE League Matchday 13: In the crucial match between Kobe and Urawa, Kobe won away and took the lead with points at the standings. Kobe’s Yui Narimiya proved herself a player worthy of being selected for the Nadeshiko. Sendai, who are in good form, won against Hiroshima and accumulated points, putting them close to the top three.
Match 1: Niigata hosted Chiba at their home stadium, Denka Big Swan Stadium, in front of a crowd of 1,228. Niigata won 1-0. Neither team had many shots, but it was a close match.
Match 2: Urawa vs. Kobe, which drew a crowd of 3,811 at Urawa Komaba Stadium, ended with a 1-2 victory for Kobe. Urawa conceded a goal in the first half, but managed to equalize in the 77th minute, but Kobe scored the winning goal in added time of the second half.
Match 3: Hiroshima hosted Sendai at EDION Peace Wing Hiroshima Stadium in front of a crowd of 3,523. The away team Sendai won 0-2, keeping a clean sheet thanks to two late goals.
Match 4: Osaka hosted Saitama at Yodoko Sakura Stadium in front of a crowd of 1,046 and won 1-0. Osaka had more shots than Saitama, but Saitama continued to attack in the final minutes. Osaka’s Rina Nakatani scored her first league goal.
Match 5: Nagano hosted Omiya at their home stadium, Nagano U Stadium, but lost 1-2. Omiya took the lead with two goals in the first half. Nagano narrowed the gap to one in the 75th minute, but was unable to tie the game.
Match 6: The match between Sagamihara and Beleza was held on September 23rd already due to ACL schedule. The result was 0-2.

DPR Korea defeated the Netherlands 3-0 in the final to win their second consecutive title. This was likely the result of the combined efforts of individual players and excellent team tactics. 16-year-old Yu Jong-hyang (Korea DPR) was named the tournament’s MVP and top scorer.

Beleza are in Group C in the group stage with Maegohyang of North Korea, ISPE of Myanmar, and Suwon of South Korea. The group league matches are concentrately held in Myanmar. Beleza faced Naegohyang in their first match and won 4-0. 18-year-old Miharu Shinjo was selected as the POTM. Moka Hiwatari scored two goals. On the other hand, Suwon defeated ISPE 5-0.
For your reference, Naegohyang, founded in 2012, is a member of North Korea’s Premier League. The league has 12 teams, but Naegohyang is a powerhouse, having won three of the past four years. This year’s ACL saw them sweep three Group D matches in the Preliminary round with an overwhelming 23-0 total. Naegohyang is the name of a North Korean state-run conglomerate that originally started out as a tobacco producer and now also produces soju (Korean shochu), electronics, and sports apparel.
