Blogger’s Prediction on Friday, February 6th: The big match of the week is between Arsenal and City. City have recorded 13 consecutive wins thanks to their well-organized defense and the dedicated work of Blinky (Laura Blindkilde Brown), but the match against Arsenal, who won the Club World Cup pre-tournament, is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the season. Meanwhile, for Tottenham, who are in fifth place and just one point behind Chelsea, their match against Chelsea is crucial for their chances of qualifying for European competition.

Overall Review: In the big match between Arsenal and City, Arsenal showed their determination at home. If Arsenal wins the postponed match against Leicester City, they will jump to second place, seven points behind City. City’s Aoba Fujino absence seems to have affected their performance. Indeed, she was absent in all the three defeated matches. United and Chelsea steadily accumulated points. The bottom three teams, Everton, West Ham, and Liverpool, defeated mid-table teams, leaving Leicester, who did not have a match, at the bottom of the table.

Match 1 (2/7): Leicester City 0-2 United: The match at King Power Stadium was a deserved victory for United. United dominated possession, shots and touches in the opponent’s box, but they had to wait until their second goal came in the 88th minute. Hinata Miyazawa of United played the full game.

Match 2 (2/8): Arsenal 1-0 City: The much-anticipated match, which drew a crowd of 39,155 at the Emirates Stadium, was won by the home team, Arsenal. The two teams had equal ball possession, Arsenal had more shots, and City had slightly more touches in the opponent’s box. It was a close match, but Arsenal showed their determination as the home team. City’s Ayaka Yamashita and Yui Hasegawa played the full game.

Match 3 (2/8): Liverpool 4-1 Aston Villa: The match, which drew a crowd of 2,587 at St Helens Stadium, led to a comfortable victory for the home team, Liverpool. While the two teams were roughly even in terms of ball possession and shots, Liverpool had more touches in the opposing box. Aston Villa seems to have struggled during Rachel Dailey’s absence. Liverpool’s form may have been boosted by the Denise O’Sullivan effect. Liverpool’s Fuka Nagano and Aston Villa’s Maya Hijikata played the full game.

Match 4 (2/8): London City 0-1 Everton: The match at Copperjax Community Stadium was won by Everton, the away team. London City had more ball possession, shots, and touches in the opponent’s box, but Everton’s patience paid off. Everton’s change of manager may have been effective. Everton’s Yuka Momiki, Honoka Hayashi, and Hikaru Kitagawa played the full game. Momiki recorded an assist.

Match 5 (2/8): West Ham 3-2 Brighton & Hove: The match, held at Chigwell Construction Stadium, saw the home team West Ham come from behind to win. Brighton & Hove opened the scoring with a goal from Kiko Seike, assisted by Moeka Minami, and added another in the 63rd minute, but West Ham pulled off a dramatic comeback by scoring three goals in a 10-minute span, starting from the 82nd minute. While West Ham had a lower ball possession rate, they had more shots and more touches in the opponent’s box. West Ham’s Riko Ueki, Brighton & Hove’s Moeka Minami and Kiko Seike all played the full game.

Match 6 (2/8): Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea: The match, which drew a crowd of 9,356 to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, ended in victory for Chelsea. The number of shots was evenly matched, but Chelsea dominated the ball possession rate and had more touches in the opponent’s box, making it a deserved victory. Tottenham’s Toko Koga played the full game.
