Blogger’s Prediction on Friday, February 20th: The biggest focus will be the six-point match between Beleza and Kobe. The overseas transfers of key players and the busy schedule due to the Asian Women’s Champions League may affect Beleza. Will Niigata and Hiroshima, who beat the first- and second-place teams last week, respectively, be able to continue their winning streaks? Saitama and Sagamihara, who both improved their form last week, will also be in the spotlight.

Overall review: Kobe maintained their lead in the standings after winning the crucial six-point match against Beleza. Beleza was forced to fall back. Urawa maintained their second-place position with a big win. The four mid-ranked teams from 4th to 7th place won and accumulated their points. The bottom teams from 8th to 12th place all lost, widening the gap between them and the upper teams.

Match 0 (2/18): Beleza 2-1 Omiya at Ajinomoto Field Nishigaoka, Tokyo with attendance of 1,312:
Beleza: M. Doko (27’), N. Kitamura (76’)
Omiya: E. Ochiai (59’)
A match of week 17 was brought forward for Beleza, who will be participating in the Asian Women’s Champions League. Although Beleza won as expected, it was an intense and exciting match.

Match 1 (2/21): Osaka vs Niigata at Yodoko Sakura Stadium, Osaka with attendance of 4,726:
Osaka: S. Kitahara (5’)
Niigata: Y. Takikawa (7’18’)Y. Yamamoto (47’)
Niigata won as expected from their more shots than Osaka. It seems that Osaka has not been able to fill the gap left by Uno Shiragaki.

Match 2 (2/21): Hiroshima 0-3 Chiba at EDION Peace Wing Hiroshima with attendance of 2,118:
Hiroshima: Y. Nakashima (1’33’), F. Yanase (4’)
Hiroshima dominated the number of shots and won the match. It was as if Hiroshima had become Funa Yanase’s team.

Match 3(2/22): Sagamihara 1-2 Sendai at Sagamihara Gion Stadium, Sagamihara with attendance of 656:
Sagamihara: Y. Sasai (84’)
Sendai: A. Tsuda (29’)S. Esaki (71’)
The match was fairly even, and it seems that the strong wind played a part for the result.

Match 4(2/22): Urawa 5-0 Nagano at Urawa Komaba Stadium, Saitama with attendance of 1,957:
Urawa: C. Kato (4’), M. Shimada (12’, 29’, 86’)K. Sakakibara (42’)
Nagano fought well but made mistakes that led to their own destruction. Shimada Mei scored a hat trick.

Match 5(2/22): Saitama vs Omiya at Kumagaya Sports and Culture Park Athletics Stadium, Kumagaya with attendance of 900:
Omiya: E. Ochiai (90’+4)
Saitama defended well, but Omiya had more shots and scored in the final minutes.

Match 6(2/22): Beleza 0-2 Kobe at Ajinomoto Field Nishigaoka, Tokyo with attendance of 2,051:
Kobe: Y. Narumiya (31’)F. Mizuno (86’)
Beleza’s defensive weaknesses were exposed, resulting in a painful defeat at home. Natsume Kingetsu seems to be making a difference in Kobe.
