[Review and Result of the Final]
The final: Japan 1-0 Australia at Stadium Australia (Sydney / Gadigal) on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

Australia had 54% ball possession, while the Nadeshiko fell below 50% for the first time in this tournament. In addition, their simple mistakes were noticeable. This difference is likely due to the tough schedule of three matches in seven days for the Nadeshiko compared to nine days for Australia. Riko Ueki missed two clear scoring opportunities, which was a little apart from her real ability. Maika Hamano had been honing her mid-range shooting technique and had been trying it out in WSL matches bravely, and it seems her efforts paid off in this final.

[World Cup play-offs]
PO1(3/19): Uzbekistan 0-2 Philippines at Gold Coast Stadium (Gold Coast / Kombumerri Country)
PO2(3/19): Chinese Taipei 0-4 DPR Korea at Gold Coast Stadium (Gold Coast / Kombumerri Country)
This playoff match draw against strong DPR Korea was unfortunate for Chinese Taipei as the runner up of Group C. They’ll have to hope for an intercontinental playoff. On the other hand, Philippines, the third of Group A, have secured their second World Cup appearance.
