[Blogger’s Review of the Week 2]
15 goals in two matches: Shizuoka’s scoring ability has exploded while Kumi Yokoyama is playing a role similar to Messi. Shizuoka have players who run tirelessly for Yokoyama. Yokoyama responds to their efforts by consistently scoring, and those around her also score. It’s the Yokoyama system. Yokoyama’s technique is outstanding.
Match 1 (3/21): Harima 1-1 Setagaya at Wink Athletics Stadium
Harima’s goal: K. Koike (37’)
Setagaya’s goal: M. Uchida (86’)
Harima, having had more shots than their opponents Setagaya, may have regret the draw result.
Match 2 (3/21): Ehime 0-2 Kamogawa at Ehime Prefectural General Sports Park Stadium
Kamogawa’s goals: M. Ueda (12’), A. Kurata (76’)
Kamogawa won the nearly evenly matched game. My favorite player, Mari Ueda, scored the opening goal.
Match 3 (3/22): Shizuoka 9-0 Nittaidai Yokohama at Yamaha Stadium
Shizuoka’s goals: K. Yokoyama (8’, 12’, 35’, 68’), R. Miwa (32’), Y. Aoba (42’), S. Kishino (45’+2), M. Shirai (76’), K. Hattori (82’)
Shizuoka won overwhelmingly, taking seven times as many shots. Kumi Yokoyama scored four goals.
Match 4 (3/22): Iga 1-1 Nagoya at Ueno Athletic Park Stadium
Iga’s goal: R. Watanabe (23’)
Nagoya’s goal: R. Tachibana (80’)
[Blogger’s focused match]
The match between last season’s first and second place teams was a close contest with an even number of shots. Iga, who reached the semi-finals of last year’s Empress’s Cup, saw their main forwards, China Kamiya and Runa Masano, transfer to Hiroshima and Chiba in the WE League respectively, and goalkeeper Yuka Goto move to Miyazaki. It remains to be seen whether Ai Katsura Ai and Miori Ono, who transferred from Saitama, are making up for these losses. Rena Masuda appears to be in good form. Iga conceded a goal from a penalty kick while a player was off the pitch receiving treatment for a bleeding injury. Bad luck. Risana Matsuda, who is still a student of Yanagigaura High School, earned a penalty kick but her own shot was saved. Nagoya, as was the case last season, is a team characterized by its solid defense. Therefore, improving their scoring ability when opposing teams have devised countermeasures against them seems to be their challenge.
Match 5 (3/22): Yunogo 3-0 Ichihara at Okayama Prefecture Mimasaka Rugby and Soccer Stadium
Yunogo’s goals: K. Kuniyoshi (6’, 90’+1), S. Terao (50’)
Yunogo won convincingly, having outshot their opponents. Kariya Kuniyoshi scored two goals.
Match 6 (3/22): Miyazaki 3-1 Yokohama Seagulls at Ichigo Miyazaki Shintomi Soccer Field
Miyazaki’s goals: A. Kakazu (25’), Y. Matsuda (54’), M. Nagano (93’)
Yokohama’s goal: M. Murakami (66’)
Miyazaki secured a well-deserved victory, dominating in terms of shots.
