wf037: Nadeshiko League 2025 Week 21

Mitsuki Horie, one of my favorite players, is in second place in the race for top scorer. Courtesy from this site.

Match 1: Shizuoka hosted Setagaya at Enshunada Seaside Park Stadium and won 3-1. It was a heated battle with both teams evenly matched in terms of shots.

Match 2: Osaka hosted Yokohama at Hattori Ryokuchi Athletics Stadium, and a draw or worse would have meant relegation, but Yokohama won. Osaka had more shots, but they sadly lost 0-2.

Match 3: Kamogawa hosted Nagoya, who had clinched the championship in the previous week, at Kamogawa City Stadium, but lost 0-1. Nagoya had more shots, so it was a natural victory.

Match 4: Harima hosted second-place Iga at Wink Stadium, finishing in a 2-2 draw. The crowd was 1,265. Iga had more shots and took the lead twice, but Harima twice equalized in a heated battle.

Match 5: Yunogo hosted Miyazaki at Tsuyama Stadium in Okayama Prefecture, which drew a crowd of 1,261, and lost 1-2. They conceded two goals early on, tried to catch up but scored one only. As a player was sent off, it became tough. Only three shots made the match defensive.

Match 6: Ehime hosted Nippon Sport Science University (NSSU) at Ehime Prefectural General Athletic Park Stadium, scoring two goals in the final minutes to win 2-0. It was their second consecutive win, and NSSU has been forced for the relegation/promotion playoffs.

With Shizuoka winning and Iga drawing, both teams are tied on points, but Shizuoka, with a larger goal difference, has risen to second place. Shizuoka will face Nagoya away in the next and final match.

Shizuoka’s Kumi Yokoyama is leading the race for top scorer, with Setagaya’s MIzuki Horie and Iga’s China Kamiya trailing by two points. The matches of the final week are at home both for Setagaya and Iga, so there are chances of large numbers of goals being scored for Horie and Kamiya. Yokoyama’s Shizuoka will face Nagoya, who have a solid defense.
