Overall review: Perhaps because some lower-ranked teams have improved their defenses in this season, close games seem to increase. Even teams that dominate in shots, passes, and ball possession often win by one goal. The standings after the week 6 are Chelsea, City, United, Tottenham, and Arsenal. London City’s third win has moved them up to sixth place. Liverpool and West Ham continue their difficult winless streak.
Match 1: Aston Villa hosted Leicester at Villa Park, drawing 0-0. Villa dominated the game in terms of shots, passes and possession, but were unable to break through Leicester’s defense to achieve a goal.
Match 2: Chelsea hosted Tottenham at their home ground of Kingsmeadow in a clash between the top teams in the standings table, first and third. Chelsea dominated in terms of shots, passes and ball possession, but Keira Walsh’s mid-range shot in the second half was their only goal. Tottenham’s defense put up a strong showing. Toko Koga played the full game.
Match 3: London City hosted West Ham at their home stadium, Hayes Lane, and won 1-0. Despite having more shots, more passes and more possession, London City had to wait for a late goal from Kosovare Asllani. Yu Endo played the full game.
Match 4: Everton hosted United at the newly completed Everton Stadium and was leading 1-0 until the 62nd minute. But United scored four goals in the second half to secure a comfortable victory. United dominated the game with more shots, more passes, and more possession of the ball, resulting in a well-deserved victory. Hinata Miyazawa played the full game. Honoka Hayashi’s first goal of the season made her the first woman to score at Everton Stadium. Hikaru Kitagawa conceded a painful own goal.
Match 5: Arsenal hosted Brighton & Hove at the Emirates Stadium and won 1-0. The goal was an own-goal from the opposition. Arsenal dominated the game in terms of shots, passes and possession, but they just couldn’t score except the one.
Match 6: Liverpool hosted City at Anfield and took the lead, but City came back to win 1-2. Despite dominating City in terms of shots, passes and ball possession, they only managed two goals. Aoba Fujino, Yui Hasegawa, Ayaka Yamashita and Fuka Nagano all played the full game.

Nine midweek matches were held last week.
On Tuesday
Match 1: Paris FC (France) 2-2 Oud-Heverlee Leuven (Belgium)
Match 2: Arsenal 1-2 OL Lyonnais
I personally don’t like OL’s playing style, even though I like Selma Bacha.
Match 3: Barcelona 7-1 Bayern München
This was an expected outcome for Munich, who neglect their defense organization.
Match 4: Juventus 2-1 Benfica
On Wednesday
Match 5: Real Madrid 6-2 Roma
It is said that Linda Caicedo seems to have reached another level. Real Madrid wins easily.
Match 6: Twente 1-1 Chelsea
Are Chelsea’s American players not fitting into the tactical plan? Is the injury to center forward Mayra Ramirez affecting them seriously?
Match 7: United 1-0 Vålerenga
How will the result, despite dominating at home but with the smallest margin, affect United?
Match 8: St. Pölten 0-6 Atlético de Madrid
Atletico de Madrid was so strong to win overwhelmingly at away against the team CIty struggled against last year.
Match 9: Wolfsburg 4-0 Paris Saint-Germain
Although PSG had a lot of shots on goal, Wolfsburg were a tough opponent.
