Overall review: Just like in the WE League, a crucial match took place. It was between Arsenal and Chelsea. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, United would have overtaken Chelsea on goal difference if they had won, but they suffered a painful defeat at home. City, who beat Everton away, moved into the lead with more points than Chelsea. Winless Liverpool and West Ham both led until added time of the second half, but were leveled. They still earned their first point of the season.

Match 1: United hosted Aston Villa in front of a crowd of 3,434 at their home stadium, Progress with Unity Stadium, but lost 0-1. Despite United enjoying 64% possession, the team suffered their first defeat of the season. Villa earned their second win of the season. Hinata Miyazawa played the full game.

Match 2: Arsenal hosted Chelsea at their home stadium, the Emirates Stadium, in front of a crowd of 56,537, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Arsenal, who had the better possession rate and more shots, would have liked to win, but were unlucky as two of their shots on the goal net were ruled out for handball and offside. Chelsea’s opening goal came in the ninth minute, when the new comer Alyssa Thompson created a chance with a quick dribble and then scored by a middle shot.

Match 3: London City hosted Tottenham at Copperjax Community Stadium and won the home match 4-2. Tottenham was behind twice and then equalized twice, but London City scored two goals with 10 minutes remaining to secure the win. It was a disappointing loss for Tottenham, who had more ball possession and shots than London City. They were overtaken by Arsenal and dropped to fifth place. Saki Kumagai and Toko Koga played the full game.

Match 4: Liverpool hosted Brighton & Hove at their home stadium, St Helens Stadium, in front of a crowd of 2,423. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Liverpool took the lead in the 26th minute and were on the verge of their first league win, but conceded a goal in added time of the second half. The teams were evenly matched in terms of ball possession and shots. Moeka Minami played the full game.

Match 5: West Ham hosted Leicester at their home stadium, Chigwell Construction Stadium, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. West Ham took the lead in the 51st minute and were on the verge of their first league win, but conceded a goal in added time of the second half. It was a disappointing draw for West Ham, who had more ball possession and more shots. Yu Endo played the full game.

Match 6: Everton hosted City at their home ground, Goodison Park, but lost 1-2. City took the lead in the 21st minute. While Everton equalized in the 40th minute, conceding a goal in the 54th minute of the second half and losing. City won as expected, with superior ball possession and more shots. Honoka Hayashi, Rion Ishikawa, Ayaka Yamashita, Yui Hasegawa, and Aoba Fujino, five Japanese girls, played the full game. City captain Alex Greenwood was absent due to injury, but Lauren Hemp, Grace Clinton, and Sydney Lohmann returned from injury to come on as substitutes.
