Remina Chiba delivered a stellar performance for Juventus, the club she had just joined. A new season is getting underway in Europe. Last weekend, top teams kicked off their pre-season matches, while the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds are currently in progress. It is a time when attention turns to how well new signings are integrating into their respective squads.

Meanwhile, in Japan, training camps leading up to the August 22nd opening of the WE League 2026/27 are drawing to a close. In the Nadeshiko League, a match originally scheduled for June 27th—which had been postponed due to typhoons—was finally played on August 8th, starting at 4:00 PM amidst sweltering heat.

[1] Kirsty Coventry, IOC Chair
It appears that IOC President Kirsty Coventry has made a major decision to ban transgender women from competing in the Olympics. Ms. Coventry is the first woman and the first person from Africa to serve as IOC President. The blogger strongly supports this decision.

[2] Nadeshiko League
Nadeshiko League 2026 Week 15 match, Setagaya (8) – Seagulls (10), was scheduled on 2 7th of June but cancelled/postponed due to the impact of Typhoons No. 7 and No. 8. The match was held on August 8th at AGF Field with attendance of 503.

[3] Nadeshiko Japan squad for the Asian Games
The additional call-up was Nanasa Ikuta, a forward. Does this mean they intend to rotate just three players at center-backs? The blogger couldn’t help but feel a twinge of anxious concern.
