After a two-month summer break during July and August, the Nadeshiko League resumed with Week 16, featuring fiercely contested matches across various locations. There were some examples of teams that had been languishing in the lower ranks becoming revitalized.

[ Blogger’s Preview on September 3rd ]
The top-standing teams—Shizuoka (1), Nagoya (2), and Miyazaki (3)—will face off against teams at the lower-table Ehime (7), Seagulls (8), and Harima (10), respectively; the question is whether they can successfully rack up more points. A clash between mid-table powerhouses Yunogo and Kamogawa is also drawing attention. It will be fascinating to see how the adjustments and player transfers made during the summer break pay off for each team.

[Overall Review]
The Seagulls and Harima, who pulled off upsets, played respective matches featuring high numbers of shots. Kamogawa’s five-goal haul against Yunogo is also worthy of special mention. Nevertheless the tightly contested race looks set to continue.
